Ah the fourth! It's never been my favorite holiday because it is so hot in Arizona but I do love the food and spending it with family. I got the best of everything this year! Not crazy hot, yummy food, my favorite 2! We had a ward breakfast early in the morning and it was fun to see everyone dressed up. The food was amazing! It's funny when there are no high chairs for Winnie I kind of stand there stumped like, "well where do we eat?" But we made do. She was doing okay sitting on a table eating and then she saw Dayton drinking juice. Suddenly eggs tasted awful and she kept signing "more" in Dayton's direction. I eventually had to drag her away to another table completely alone and get her to eat. Annndd then kids with decorated bikes came racing by. Too many distractions!!
After the breakfast Dayton worked for a few hours so we hung around the house cleaning and playing! He got home around 2 and we got the house ready for people to BBQ! Chance, Charlcie, and a few of the guys Dayton works with came over for hot dogs and catch phrase. Dayton gets soooo intense with games and I have to admit it felt good that my team won every single match. The boys wanted to have a water balloon fight and light off fireworks just outside our neighborhood so we let them do their thing watching far far far far far away. We got in a little trouble with the fireworks because I guess they're illegal? I dont know.
So tired for the breakfast
always rough housin'
Okay I don't know what happened to my camera for this picture or what but our faces look super fake and weird? It's a classic blank Winnie look though.
After a close run in with the cops and the HOA lady we piled in our cars and headed to the park in Bellevue! Surprisingly parking and traffic wasn't awful and the weather was perfect. They have a huge orchestra that plays at the park during the fireworks which is so awesome. We played catch phrase again with everyone while we waited and some lady next to us kept shouting out answers?! haha I genuinely think she couldn't help it. She kept apologizing then would keep guessing or saying things loudly under her breath. When the fireworks started Winnie lost it. It was 10 o'clock at this point and she was just screaming these loud, horrified shrills everytime one went off. Of course her passie was lost so I'm scrambling to find an extra in the diaper bag while Dayton is trying to soothe her. Those frantic parenting moments are the best. Of course passie always does the trick! She watched the rest of the show protected in Dayton's arms with her ears tightly covered :) I'm so glad we have so many friends here for the summer! It's making the move soo much easier. But really, living in the 80's all summer is pretty easy no matter who you're with.
Looks like fun! Now I feel like I know where you guys are in the world now that we've been there to visit. Glad you guys have Cha and Chan for the summer too!
