Winnie's birthday was over a month ago but I still feel like I need to be pinched. How is my baby one?? I've never known my heart was capabale of loving a little human so much. Dayton and I's relationship has grown 10 fold and I've seen him grow and love more than ever. On her actual birthday we were in Washington just us three. Honestly, I loved Dayton and I singing to her in the quiet of our own home, laughing at her giggling, and seeing her take her first bites of cake ever. Plus, I knew we'd get a crazy ALL out party with family in Arizona later.
We woke up and opened her cards and presents on our bed that morning and she was estatic! All day long we sang Happy Birthday and did FaceTime with family! We made some chocolate chip waffles for her which was a mess of course. After breakfast we broke in all her new books and played. We headed to the park to play! I can't remember what dinner was but I did make a sad excuse for a cake. haha She didn't know the difference and loved it anyway!
These are Dayton's little sister's pajamas from when she was a baby. Are they not the cutest thing in the world!?
All she needs is a passie and her blankie and she's set!
When we flew down for Winnie's surgery we had another party with both sides of the family at Grandma Lamb's house. Grandma Lamb is so cute! At church I was telling Winnie to go see great-grandma Lambie! And Grandma says "Everyone all the sudden keeps calling me great grandma, I don't know what they're talking about, I've always been great!" She is the best! And so generous for letting us parade into her house and get cake all over her counter! I loved having both families there and Winnie was a crack up!
Okay, hands down, this is the funniest thing she does. We'll ask her where her eyes are and she squints so softly.
Really, in the hair Wins?
This year was really nothing like I thought it would be. I've learned so much and I've learned how resilient childrens' spirits are. They're incredible little souls. I'm so grateful for this amazing year we've had with Winsley and love spending every second with her!
