Sunday we went to an hour of Church and then went to one of the cities where Dayton served his mission. We've yet to tour any parts of his mission since we've been here and Rondalee was dying to visit, so we decided it was a must see! It was so cute to watch Dayton get excited about seeing old places he lived. We visited Lakewood, Steilacoom, and Chocolate City. It's a pretty sketchy part of town and the trailer parks he would tract were crazy. Rondalee and I couldn't believe Dayton, at 19, was walking around these neighborhoods. One of the trailers in this one park was completely blown up, we imagined was a meth lab. I loved seeing the homes of his converts, apartments of some of the other Elders, and Church buildings he attended. The coolest part was seeing the first house he ever lived in. It's vacant now but it was awesome because he pointed through the window where his desk was and told us his memories in that house.
We went to the Puget sound coast in Steilacoom after and it's just beautiful! I love it so much here. There was this little platform over looking the coast that Dayton always told his Mom he wanted to propose to his wife there. Well it took a few years but he did it! Actually he didn't even say it, he just knelt down and held my hand, and posed. He was yelling at Rondalee because he thought she was taking the picture but didn't realize it was off so she kept saying "one more picture" and he would get up and she ordered him back on his knee, then she had to take one with her phone. Seriously this happened like 5 times. He enjoyed the weekend with the two women in his life that love pictures more than anything. Poor Dayton!
After we took a thousand pictures and we were all good and mad we got dinner at Boathouse 19. We didn't even eat seafood but the food was incredible! That night we said bye to Rondalee! We can't wait for her to visit again!!
