Washington D.C.

After a few days in Arizona Dayton headed to California for work and I went to D.C. for my great aunt's funeral.  She passed away a few months ago from Lou Gehrigs disease (ALS) Remember all those ice bucket challenges?  It really is a terrible disease but she lived an amazing life and did so much good!

Right when we landed we went to a dinner at Jean's friends house.  Dinner was so yummy and it was fun to see all my aunts and uncles. The house was less than baby proof unfortunately so most of my time was spent trying to distract Wins from breaking someone else's antiques.  That whole weekend was pretty stressful because everywhere we went was beautiful but so not meant for kids.

The next morning Leah and I wanted to go ride bikes around D.C. That ride was the most amazing thing I've probably ever done.  D.C. is a very big biking city and they have a really awesome bike system for tourists and I guess locals too. You rent a bike from a Capital Bike Share station for the day for $7.00.  You have thirty minutes to ride the bike and then you need to put it at another station in order to not get charged $2.00, otherwise if it's on time you don't pay anything.  If you time your whole day right you pay $7.00 for the whole day!  It was perfect!  We looked on the bike station map and made sure whatever site we went to had a stop nearby so we could drop off our bike, explore, and pick a new bike when we were ready for the next spot!  We rushed a little bit because we would get lost and didn't want to get charged but other than that it's a perfect way to see the city.

Grandpa Ramsay (Gramsay) has never met Winsley before so this was a special treat!

The guy who took our picture kept telling jokes about the Kardashians and would make sure to get our approval of every picture he snapped.  This picture ^^ killed me.  Where's Abe?!

Alexander joined us mid day!

This was at the memorial service for Jean!  Again with the rooms that were not kid friendly.  Winnie was melting down during the memorial service so I rushed her out.  LUCKILY every other room I went to had 30 ft ceilings so even if I was downstairs in the farthest corner of the building everyone could hear those cute baby blood curdling shrills. We opted for walking outside and throwing our shoes in the street. All joking aside I love that Grandpa of mine.  Always cracking jokes and telling great stories.  Every stressful moment of that day was worth getting to see him for a quick minute.

Ah the D.C. temple.

The morning before we left back to Arizona we went to Annapolis.  What a cute city that we didn't have a second to explore.  haha!  We did stop and get some yummy crab though! Winnie did her first on command smile and I coulnd't stop coaching her to smile while I shoved my phone in her face to try and get the perfect picture.  Too cute!
