Nassau

When we got off the cruise ship  in Nassau we were bombarded with high priced bus rides, excursions, and ATV rides.  We wanted to get to a beach immediately so we grabbed a map and asked around.  We didn't have change and it was early in the morning to get change so a bus wasn't an option.  We set our sights on Cable beach and it looked close by.  So we walked.  We kept thinking we were close but no, we had to keep walking.  It's those mistakes and adventures that I love about traveling.  We ended up walking 5 miles in the end but we finally made it to Cable beach.

Cable beach is filled with hotels and resorts right off the shore.  The water was crystal clear and we were so excited.  We got the OK from a hotel worker to lay out right by the beach and then some lifeguard came up to us after and try to con us out of of $20.00 saying it was a charge for non hotel residents.  It's a pretty funny story how it all played out but thanks to Dayton's street smarts we figured out he was lying.

There was huge storm the night before and they had flags up for safety so we couldn't go in the ocean.  We were really looking forward to laying out and playing in the ocean but we ended up laying by the pool at the resort which was nice too!  We shopped and then took a bus back to the port.  I got my map of the Bahamas for our map wall for only $1.00!
