Wonderful, Marvelous, and Special

Pardon my heavy, extra emotional posts but I have to share

I'm fully obsessed with my mom (oh no not another 'I love my mom posts!') She's my therapist **when she answers her phone**, the nicest person you'll ever meet, and will never ever says a bad word about anyone. Really. The other night I was was talking about someone saying "Mom can you believe they do that? Its not right!?" and all she says is "Honey, it may not be the right thing for you to do, but right now you're taking notes. You dont have to go telling all your friends or gossiping but take notes about things you'll never do and people you can learn from". Im sinking in my seat at this point feeling bad and say OK mom. So you get it, that's the type of person my mom is.

Long before the famous phrase from The Help became popular. We were three girls; my mom, my sister Liana, and me staring in a mirror holding our hands up saying "You're WONDERFUL, you're MARVELOUS, you're SPECIAL!" we were into it when we were young but as we got older we would mumble it to the mirror thinking my 'mom is so cheesy.' Which she proudly is!

I had a break down the other night. MAJOR. Seriously, the tears that left my eyes...You did not want to be in the Jones' home. haha God bless Dayton and my mom for sticking with me.  But I remembered those times in front of the mirror as I was feeling sorry for myself. I will give that example to my kids as cheesy as it may be. To always remind them they mean something! This may be a pointless post, or just a personal epiphany but sometimes you (ME) just need to be reminded.
