I think I've mentioned the idea of doing a map wall sometime on here but I finally did it. I'm so critical of myself and want to rip it all down and retry, but I'm too lazy to start over haha. I'm hoping the more maps we add the more complete and unlopsided it will look. Hmph. So that means more traveling! No complaints about that.
We were admiring the old books and posters from the street carts along the Seine in Paris and I noticed all these awesome maps. I flipped through a few and found this one of the old "France". This is before the arrondissements were established. I loved it and I decided to start collecting as many maps for each city/country we visited from then on!
When we arrived in Venice I had the map search in the back of my mind. When we were eating breakfast I looked down I saw my place mat was this map of Venice with the little resturant marked in red. It's not all of Italy like I planned but I thought it had a fun story behind it!
This last one we found of Greece was a miracle. We carefully searched the scary shops of Athens and I almost gave up hope at the end of the day and thought I could find a map on Amazon or something instead. Right before we headed home we checked at a shop we already went to and found this beauty in the far back of a stack of other maps. This one was alot like our France map showing ancient Greek boundaries!
I really am so happy with how it turned out!
