We left Paris after spending four days there and arrived in Marseille by train. We were planning on seeing Chateau D'If, but sadly it was closed due to wind. I dont think Dayton said a word for three hours he was so sad :( So after we found out Chateau D'If was a no-go we hopped on a train to Nice. Nice was absolutely incredible! As we trained through Cannes and Antibes the water was crystal clear and so green and blue. I've never seen anything like that and I didnt expect it! It was gorgeous!!
Our hotel in Nice was really close to the train station (Travel Tip: Dayton and I decided that finding a hotel as close as possible to the train station or airport is ideal, rather than close to sights. That way you're not lugging your huge bags around. Even though we were a mile and a half from the beach and had no beach view we hopped off the train and found our hotel easy and walked with out huge bags.) The beach in Nice was filled with smaller rocks. They made the prettiest sound when the waves came in and washed out. We had amazing gelato in Nice, shopped at the farmers market, gave each other tattoos, went into a European grocery store and had our first beach day.
After our beach day in Nice we headed to Monte Carlo, Monaco. Monaco is its own little country that was annexed from France so their economy thrives from gambling and tourism. They residents of Monaco arent even allowed to gamble at the casinos. Why take money from the rich?
In Monte Carlo we gambled, had amazing pizza, tried our first macaroons, went to an amazing aquarium, and toured the track for the Grand Prix!
Monte Carlo
The casino. 007!
