Daddy daughter date.

A week and a half ago Dayton told me he was going to take Winnie girl on a daddy daughter date.  It was almost like he wasn't asking if it was going to work with our schedule he was telling me.  I love when he gets those cute ideas.  It's a comletely irrational thought but of course I wonder if we'll ever have a boy.  Seriously, we have one girl and we think that's it.  No boys allowed.  Makes total sense.  Dayton says he wouldn't mind having all girls and so many times when I see him with Winnie I settle into the feeling that maybe we're meant to have all girls.  If there was ever a human meant to be a dad for girls it would be Dayton.  He is so gentle with her and somehow always knows during her tantrums when she needs a big hug.  Such a girl thing.  I could have used one of those intuitive hugs yesterday! :) He's always been very vocal about how protective he will be over her as she gets older.  Even now though, now that I think of it.  I think that is one of the most important parts about having a Dad in your life.  I have a hard time seeing moms brush aside the Dad when he says, "those shorts are too short" or is addiment about a curfew and just give the "go ahead!".  I mentioned this is another post about how we try to be careful to make sure our marriage comes before our kids.  I'd like to think that no matter has fuming mad our kids get at us because of a rule we're trying to enforce if we decide that that's the way it is, then there's no more discussion.  I'm not afraid my kids will get mad at me.  Not even a little!   And more importantly I would seriously hope if Dayton had a gut feeling about something, even if I didn't understand the logic behind it, I would support him.  That's what he's there for!  "Supporting" him in his Daddy daughter date with Winsley was a no brainer.  She is so so so so so lucky she has him.  She has no clue how much he prays and thinks about her.  How tirelessly he works to make sure she gets one on one time with mama.  And how the second he puts her down to bed he comes in the family room and says,"sure miss that Winnie girl."  She's missing him aton now.  She wakes up and climbs in to bed with me in the morning and calls for "daddyyyyyy!!" What's the countdown until he gets home again?!

classy dates to Dairy queen and Fred Meyer for a new Thomas train and puzzle!  He opened the car door for her and everything!
