I was super worried about Wins' first flight. She's always a happy baby but I was mostly worried that if she started to cry or got tired people would be rude to me. Packing up a suitcase for her is a whole other story. I was sweating going through security but we made it. Phew! They let us on the plane first and we unloaded everything and got settled at the window. I was nervous as to who would sit next to us! An older lady walked up to our row, looked at Winnie, and said "Yay! How did I get so lucky to sit next to you!" HALLELUJAH. She helped me distract Wins during the flight. She organized my things for me while Winnie was squirming. Ah it was like having my mom right there! We discussed her owns son's disabilities and talked about Winnie's condition. We cried together as complete strangers. haha She gave me some great advice too, like taking everyything one day at a time. I love nice people! Winnie fell asleep on my lap and she said to me "Enjoy this now, because when they turn 16, its CRAP." (She said a different word than crap but I'll edit.) haha I was dying, she was hilarious.
Dayton met us at baggage claim! Ah I missed him so much. We grabbed our bags and loaded up in the car to head to our hotel. Side note: Dayton and I are cheap when it comes to travel. We stay at the least expensive place so that we can have more money to play! We found our hotel on Hotwire in downtown Seattle and hoped for the best! We pulled up to the hotel and I was terrified. While Dayton left us in the car to check in I fully expected him to come back and say it wasn't safe and we needed to find another place. I called him while he was gone and asked if it was "ok" and he said yes :) just old. We walked into our room and it's just perfect! We can practically touch the space needle with our hands from the hotel window! It has a freezer for Winnie's milk and a walk in closet! (I'm such a mom) Dayton was right it's old but clean and safe which is key. I really love it and we'll stay here every single time we come. After we got settled we walked around the block to find someplace to eat. We found this pizza place and then went to the Space Needle. It was like 9pm at this time so we just walked around and came home to sleep together, finally!!

Thursday 1/30/2014 We headed out early to eat at Top Pot Donuts and grab some hot chocolate. It was pretty cold that day! We sat down with out donuts and just hung out and fed Winnie. We had to hurry back to the hotel so Dayton could leave for work. I am just in awe of this city. It's busy, but calm. Dayton left to work, Winnie and I napped, then headed out to explore. Everything from our apartment was like a mile away but not a bad walk at all because there is so much to look at. It only turns into a long walk when you get lost! Which I have done ALOT. We stumbled on the Public Market and it was fun to look at all the vendors. My job while Dayton was at work was to find a good seafood resturant to eat at! I asked every local I could where they recommended. Everyone is so nice there. I'm serious. They're witty, hilarious, and weird. I love it. When we travel we try and not hit the typical turists spots but to actually go where the locals would go, even if it looks like some dump on the inside and out. I found some yummy little shack inside the market to get Clam chowder and chatted with the owner. He recommended Beechers for Mac n' cheese. The Mac n' cheese had corn, green chile, and slices of roasted red pepper. STOP. It was so good and I'm definitely going to make it when I finally get my own kitchen. We wandered a little more and headed home to be there when Dayt got home! We drove down to the market again and went to Seatown. We got crab, muscles, and chicken pot pie. Eating dinner at a semi nice restruant with an 8 month old is tricky. When it's past the point of her quietly sitting in her carseat. So it usually ends up one of us is scarfing down our food while the other one entertains her then we switch. Team work! Or this time we were in a booth and blocked her in with her diaper bag and toys to play with haha.
