I've gone through many things through out pregnancy trying to be healthy and work out regularly. I've made it a motto of my pregnancy to "listen to my body". It is NOT easy to workout at this point but I'm trying and being cautious of over exerting myself. I recognize I may not be able to do every exercise or every rep like I have before and that's okay for now. My goals are not about being skinny or losing weight. It's about being healthy for this little gal.
In the first trimester I walked/ran very little. I had no energy so I let myself just rest for a while. Thanks to the famous second trimester energy boost, I started running again. I thought I would be able to do it longer but running was short lived. With growing womanly areas my two sports bras werent cutting it. I tried to go down a few sizes and still I was extremely uncomfortable and in pain. So I took a break from exercising. But I felt horrible....fast! So I motivated myself to have another go.
The Gym- I did the elyptical for a few weeks and I never felt like I was working out. So I switched to the stair master for 30 minutes then I walk at an incline power walk for 20 minutes. After that, I do arm weights, lunges, and a few other machines.
Hot Yoga- Hot yoga twice a week and still loving it. I get to be calm, meditate, and concentrate and the here and now. Which is important for a person who enjoys worrying about things in the future I can not control. **I've heard many things about hot yoga not being okay for pregnancy. My doc approved it but some may not!**
Juicing- This has been the biggest change for me since Christmas. Dayton got me a juicer for Christmas and I'm obsessed. I take one half water bottle full in the morning with a banana for breakfast and then with lunch have another full water bottle of greeny brown juice. haha It looks gross but tastes like berries! And I get so full off of it! I'm never starving after I drink it.
Water water water water water water. I can't ever get enough!
Those are the few things I've tested out. Who knows I may change work outs depending on what I'm feeling but working out has helped keep me feeling my normal old self and it gives me energy back! Everyone is so different and I'm lucky to not have been sick. Some pregnant women run marathons, do sprints, and some can't get off the couch because of sicknesses. This is working well for me but everyone is so different so I do not compare myself or my experience to anyone else!
